Directorate appointment/Notice of Results
West Pioneer (AIM:WPR), a leading developer and operator of shopping malls in west and southern India, is pleased to announce the appointment of Hugh Sandeman (aged 58) as Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.
Hugh's extensive financial experience includes 2 years spent working for the London Stock Exchange, where he was responsible for substantially increasing its market share of equity capital raised by Indian companies on international stock markets. Prior to that he spent 13 years in investment banking at Dresdner Kleinwort, where he managed a number of high profile deals in the telecommunications and utilities sectors.
Mr Sandeman is currently a senior advisor of Langham Capital Limited and during the past five years has also been a managing director of investment bank Jefferies International Limited, where he spent much of his time advising on India based transactions and helped build a locally based India team.
Amit Jatia, Chairman, said: "I would like to welcome Hugh to West Pioneer. His considerable years of capital market experience coupled with his knowledge of Indian companies will give the Board the right balance as the Company continues to develop. We look forward to working closely with him."
No other information in respect of Mr Sandeman is required to be disclosed under Schedule Two (g) of the AIM Rules.
The Company will be announcing its Final Results for the year ended 31 March 2009 on Monday 29 June 2009.
An analyst briefing given by Amit Jatia, Chairman, will be held at 09.00 hrs on Monday 29 June 2009 at Abchurch's offices, 100 Cannon Street, London, EC4N 6EU.
